Simon is a partner in the Global Energy Group specialising in complex commercial transactions and regulatory matters within the clean energy sector, including energy commodities, route to market and offtake arrangements, subsidies and grid connections. Simon is recognised by Legal 500 as a Next Generation Partner in Power and co-leads our EMEA PPA practice, which is consistently ranked by Inspiratia as a top 3 European legal practice by deal count and volume. Simon has lead the negotiations in respect of over 4GW of clean power agreements within the last two years across EMEA, including large scale offshore wind, onshore wind and solar/battery storage and was the leading EMEA advisor in relation to the largest corporate PPA partnership in the world.
Simon is also a leading legal advisor within European energy markets for corporates seeking to reduce their carbon footprint and align with their Net Zero strategy, including green power and biogas/hydrogen procurement, private wire projects and carbon credit procurement.

- Brookfield (and its subsidiaries including OnPath) in relation to the UK and EU aspects of its PPAs with Microsoft, the largest corporate PPA partnership in the world, which plans for the development of over 10.5 gigawatts of new renewable energy capacity (enough to power about 1.8 million homes) and is almost eight times larger than any previous single corporate PPA
- Equinor in relation to strategy and approach for the co-development of the Dudgeon Extension Project (402MW) and the Sheringham Extension Project (317MW), offshore wind projects
- RWE Supply & Trading GmbH in respect of the drafting, negotiation and implementation of PPA/route to market arrangements in respect of the entire RWE Renewables UK fleet of offshore and onshore wind projects, in excess of 1.2GW
