Eversheds Sutherland has advised EQT on the sale-and-leaseback transaction of a new logistics centre in Borna-Ost, south of Leipzig, to Fiege Real Estate. Fiege will remain the long-term tenant and operator of the site.
The 40,000 m² asset, completed in late summer 2025, combines strategic connectivity via the A72 motorway with cutting-edge sustainability features, including EG 40 efficiency standards, DGNB Gold certification (target), and a 4,500 kWp photovoltaic system. This transaction reinforces EQT’s commitment to sustainable logistics infrastructure and highlights Eversheds Sutherland’s expertise in complex real estate and investment deals in Germany and across Europe.
The Eversheds team consisted of Kathrin Paulet (Partner, Real Estate, Dusseldorf), Marc Schwencke (Partner, Real Estate, Dusseldorf), Dr Martin Weitenberg (Partner, Energy, Dusseldorf), Julian-Claudius Götz (Counsel, Real Estate, Dusseldorf), Dr Arndt Scheffler (Counsel, Energy, Munich), and Hizir Aydogdu (Senior Associate, Real Estate, Dusseldorf). The team regularly advises EQT on transactions, including the acquisition of Lidl’s new distribution centre in Hückelhoven.
