- advising AirTrunk on the acquisition by third-party investors of a majority share in its business. Also seconded to AirTrunk in Singapore, working with the local counsel team to advise on Asia-Pacific regional technology law, general commercial matters and data privacy matters.
- advising a large global technology company on its rollout of an OTT platform in multiple jurisdictions. Advised on issues including competition law, payment issues, content regulation, licensing issues. Coordinated with local counsels for responses in their jurisdictions.
- advised Genting, the leading Malaysia-based investment holding and management company on its collaboration with Alibaba Cloud Computing Services, in connection with the development of a virtual queue AI system for an upcoming theme park to be built in Malaysia. The AI system is heavily based on Alibaba’s City Brain real-time city traffic data analytics system, which it has developed for use in cities such as Hangzhou and Suzhou.
- advised a leading international gaming / social media company on alcohol advertisement restrictions and guidelines as well as content licensing requirements in Singapore.
- assisted a large international travel software company in various matters including its negotiations for use of its software solution by a resort based in mainland China in particular the security schedules as well as advising on mainland China’s complex IT and telecoms (VATS) licensing requirements and the impact on the client’s downstream operations; and on strategic partnering arrangements across Greater China.
- advised Aetna on its exit of the international private medical insurance (IPMI) market around the world except in the Americas, including in particular the negotiations of transitional services agreements in respect of the sale of its Thai business to Allianz Ayudhya Capital PCL.
