The Eversheds Sutherland teams in Paris have advised the Fagerhult Group, a Swedish specialist in professional lighting, on the proposed acquisition of 100% of the shares of the French group Trato TLV, a designer and manufacturer of professional lighting (Trato) and hospital equipment (TLV/Biolume) based the North of France in Roubaix, near Lille.
With this acquisition, the Fagerhult Group aims to develop synergies in terms of procurement and identifies strong sales growth opportunities at national and international level, particularly in the medical lighting products sector. The Swedish group currently employs 4,000 people in 27 countries, with sales of €756 million and 12 brands organized into 4 divisions: Collection, Premium, Professional and Infrastructure.
The family group Trato TLV was founded in 1947. The company‘s turnover was €56m in 2024 with 230 employees. Its products equip stores, offices, transport, industry and hospitals. The founding family will remain involved in the company's strategy and management.
The potential transaction remains subject to the consultation process of Trato TLV’s staff representatives, the signing of the final documentation and the usual regulatory authorizations.
