She advises institutional investors in complex US, Australian and cross-border debt finance and financial restructuring matters. Her practice focuses on representing secured and unsecured creditors, direct lenders, and private credit funds in a wide range of transactions and distressed situations.
Renée has extensive experience advising institutional investors, private placement noteholder groups and bank groups on front-end investment structures, intercreditor agreements, amendments, out of court workouts, debt-for-equity transactions and in court restructurings in the United States and internationally. She frequently advises clients on their general investment activities and proposed investment structures with a focus on mitigating financial risk. Renée counsels clients through all stages of the investment lifecycle - from origination and negotiation to enforcement and recovery - offering strategic guidance grounded in commercial insight and legal experience.
Renée has been involved in matters of critical importance to the institutional investor community, including precedent restructuring transactions in Australia and key make-whole litigation in the United States.
Renée is Co-Deputy Practice Group Leader for Eversheds’ Finance Practice. She is also past President of the American College of Investment Counsel and a former member of the Board. Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Renée was a partner at a large national law firm.
