Eversheds Sutherland advises Janus Henderson on its acquisition of European ETF providerMay 03, 2024 Eversheds Sutherland has advised NYSE-listed Janus Henderson, a leading global active asset manager, on its acquisition of independent European ETF provider, Tabula Investment Management (Tabula). Established in 2018, Tabula has built an institutional-grade investment management and ETF business with over $500m in assets under management and funds listed across ten European exchanges, serving clients across 15 countries. The acquisition builds on Janus Henderson’s successful active ETF proposition in the US, where it is the fourth largest global provider of active fixed income ETFs by assets under management. As of March 31, 2024, Janus Henderson had approximately US$353bn in assets under management, more than 2,000 employees, and offices in 24 cities worldwide. Eversheds Sutherland’s team was led by Financial Services (FS) M&A Group Partners Ankit Chhabra and Hugo Laing, who were supported by a core team comprising: Principal Associate Gruffudd (Griff) Jones and David Murray, and Associates Michael Hyde, and Julie Jo (all corporate/M&A). Wider support was provided by Partners Phil Spyropoulos (financial services), Danny Blum (employee incentives), Helen Mackey (tax) and Simon Lightman (technology/outsourcing). Eversheds Sutherland’s Financial Services (FS) M&A Group comprises a dedicated team of M&A lawyers who focus on transactions within the financial services space. Ankit Chhabra, Partner, Eversheds Sutherland, said: “We’re thrilled to have assisted Janus Henderson’s deal team on this exciting transaction.
