Allison advises clients on energy regulatory, enforcement and compliance matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and state commissions. 

She also counsels electric cooperatives and other electric utilities, transmission companies, energy trading companies, generators, and end users on a wide range of energy-related transactional matters involving natural gas, oil and electric utility issues, and securing necessary regulatory approval for energy-related transactions. Allison also assists clients with cybersecurity and data protection matters.

Allison provides advice on trade-related matters, including investigations with the US Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the International Trade Administration (ITA) at the US Department of Commerce. She also represents clients in front of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), the US International Trade Commission, and other federal agencies, and advises clients regarding state and federal policy issues.

Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland (US), Allison participated in the 2014 Summer Associate program. Her previous experience includes serving as a public policy intern for Facebook and a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Jan L. Brodie of the 19th Circuit in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Treasury’s 2022 CFIUS Annual Report

  • Advised a large renewable energy developer, owner and operator in connection with the acquisition of an approximately 69MWac development stage solar project in Virginia.
  • Advised a large renewable energy developer, owner and operator in connection with the sale of operational utility-scale wind facility in California and operational utility-scale solar facility in Texas.
  • Advised on multi-jurisdictional pipeline asset transfers associated with major corporate restructuring.
  • Advised a multinational energy transportation company in a cross-border deal in connection with its divestment of a large transmission line in the West through the sale of Canadian and US entities owning relevant portions of the transmission line.
  • Negotiated the resentencing of a pro bono client who was sentenced as a juvenile to life in prison without parole, resulting in his nearly immediate parole.
  • Served as underwriters' counsel to Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan and Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the offering and issuance of more than $113 million in bonds (Seminole Electric Cooperative Inc. Project).
  • Advised Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. on all US legal aspects of its acquisition of Alterra Power Corp., a Canadian renewable energy company with assets in Canada, the US, Iceland, Chile and Italy.
  • Represented private equity fund as deal counsel in its successful bid and acquisition of four coal-fired power plants totaling 1200 MW of generation capacity in New Jersey, West Virginia and Arkansas including back leverage financing to support the acquisition.
