The German business magazine Die WirtschaftsWoche has again recognised Eversheds Sutherland as top legal practice and five Partners as top lawyers for M&A and anti-trust law: Dr. Werner Brickwedde, Anthony Cross and Dr. Michael Prüßner are among the most renowned lawyers for M&A. Martin Bechtold and Daniel von Brevern are among the most frequently recommended lawyers for anti-trust law. Werner Brickwedde (Dusseldorf) is the co-head of the German practice group Corporate/M&A. He advises national and international clients in the areas of general corporate law and M&A, in particular on national and cross-border transactions and joint ventures. He focuses on transactions in the energy and infrastructure sector. Anthony Cross (Munich) advises clients on complex M&A deals as well as restructurings, joint ventures, minority investments and other transactions. He is registered as a lawyer in Germany and as a solicitor in England and Wales. Michael Prüßner (Munich) is the co-head of the German practice group Corporate/M&A. He mainly advises German and international corporations as well as private equity companies on M&A transactions, particularly in cross-border matters. His sector focus is on advising industrial and consumer goods companies Martin Bechtold (Munich/Brussels), head of the German Anti-trust Law practice group, has more than 30 years of experience in the conduct of merger control proceedings before the European Commission and in Germany as well as in the worldwide coordination of merger control proceedings. Furthermore, he advises his clients with regard to anti-trust law-related compliance matters and cartel and abuse procedures as well as the assertion and defence of anti-trust law-related claims in court. Daniel von Brevern (Dusseldorf) advises his clients in particular on German, European and international merger control matters, on anti-trust proceedings and within the framework of actions for damages under anti-trust law. In addition, he focuses on investment control and European state aid law. For the WirtschaftsWoche rankings, Handelsblatt Research Institute (HRI) interviewed more than 4,800 lawyers from 237 law firms. The final selection was made by an expert jury of companies and specialist media, including Bosch, RWE, ThyssenKrupp and ZF Friedrichshafen. According to the jury's assessment, 41 law firms with 67 lawyers stood out for M&A and 40 law firms with 76 lawyers were especially recommended for anti-trust law. Latest Insights
