Unlocking potential with Artificial IntelligenceEmployee representative involvement in workplace AI implementationDecember 17, 2025 We are pleased to announce the launch of our global employer guide to employee representative involvement in workplace AI implementation. Why should I read this? The ongoing rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption in the workplace not only marks a substantial transformation in ways of working, but can also trigger new or additional legal obligations, including in relation to the required involvement of employee representatives. While obligations to engage with employee representatives prior to the introduction of technology are not new, global requirements to involve employee representatives when rolling out new AI technology can vary - from information sharing, to formal consultation and, in some cases, codetermination/consent. What do I need to know?As employers look to implement new AI systems across their global workforce, understanding when and how employee representative obligations apply, and how they differ across jurisdictions, will be critical to avoiding legal risks, project delays, and reputational harm. To help global employers stay ahead, we have prepared a global guide, which includes key considerations and an interactive map across 48 jurisdictions with a summary of requirements for the involvement of employee representatives when implementing AI.
