Eversheds Sutherland advises Huboo Technologies on unique sponsorship deal with Bristol SportFebruary 16, 2022 Eversheds Sutherland has provided advice to Huboo Technologies (Huboo), this time, on a high profile and unique group-wide principal partner sponsorship agreement with Bristol Sport. Huboo is a Bristol-headquartered award-winning eCommerce fulfilment provider, which is expanding rapidly across Europe. Bristol Sport is owned (and was founded) by Stephen Lansdown CBE. It is based at Ashton Gate Stadium and is part of a sporting group model which includes Bristol City FC (men & women) Bristol Bears (men & women); Bristol Flyers Basketball and Ashton Gate Stadium. This latest deal comes hot on the heels of Huboo’s double acquisition of Roseta.io and New Vision Software (New Vision) earlier this year, and on which the global law firm also advised. Led by Partner Nick Stubbs and Associate Seb Butcher from Eversheds Sutherland’s dedicated sports practice, the team advised on all elements of the deal including the agreement and the negotiations with Bristol Sport. Nick Stubbs, Eversheds Sutherland, said: “This deal speaks to Huboo’s commercial intent and its continued, but carefully considered and very strategic approach, to building on its increasing profile in the market. “It’s an exciting business to work with and we’re thrilled to have been able to combine our legal capability and sports sector experience to successfully deliver this latest transaction for the team.” David Hill, Huboo, said: “Eversheds Sutherland has quickly become a trusted legal advisor. This latest commercial opportunity was particularly time-sensitive and one that required a highly commercial, and technically excellent legal team with a comprehensive understanding of both our business and the sports sector. Nick and Seb went above all expectations. We’re thrilled and look forward to continuing our work with them.” Eversheds Sutherland’s sports practice continues to build on its already comprehensive experience in advising a wide range of stakeholders in the sports ecosystem, from high profile athletes, clubs and sports leagues to sponsors, media platforms, and sports betting operators.
