In his energy practice, Rob represents clients in negotiating structured physical and financial hedging transactions, power purchase agreements, fuel supply matters and other structured energy transactions. He also advises on energy management agreements, asset management agreements and other agreements related to electric power generation, fuel supply and energy and commodity trading matters. Rob’s practice is heavily focused on the transition of power generation from traditional generation sources to renewables and on the development of hedging products intended to facilitate the financing and continued operation of electric generation facilities needed for the bulk power grid.
Rob also regularly advises clients on matters that intersect with both transactional and regulatory practices.
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Rob was a partner on the energy teams at several large law firms. Earlier in his career, he served as in-house counsel for the energy trading and marketing affiliate at a privately-held financial institution, where he focused on a variety of energy transactional and regulatory matters across the company's international trading platform.
