The designations are the result of an annual survey conducted by the publication, which focuses on professional achievement and peer recognition. Ms. Hopkins, resident in Eversheds Sutherland’s Austin office, is an electric power industry lawyer. As a member of Eversheds Sutherland’s Energy Practice Group, she advises clients on a wide variety of complex regulatory matters, litigation and commercial transactions. She represents owners of conventional and renewable generation, electric utilities, utility investors, retail electric providers, and other clients before state and federal agencies and in state and federal court. Ms. Hopkins has significant experience with multi-state and Texas-jurisdictional transmission projects and traditional utility base rate proceedings. She also regularly advises clients on issues related to registration, certification, and reporting with state commissions and independent system operators/regional transmission organizations, including the Electric Reliability Council of Texas. Ms. Hopkins serves as the Chair on the City of Austin’s Electric Utility Commission and on the emPOWERing Women Committee of the Gulf Coast Power Association. Mr. Woodson, resident in Eversheds Sutherland’s Austin office, advises clients on complex commercial litigation matters, with an emphasis on enforcement and all aspects of labor and employment issues. He represents employers and a broad range of companies and organizations in various business disputes, including trade secret cases; non-compete issues; discrimination, harassment and retaliation; the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA); the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN); and other federal and state statutes; and traditional labor disputes. Additionally, Mr. Woodson represents employers in cases pending before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and state employment agencies, including the Texas Workforce Commission. His experience also includes guiding clients through Department of Labor investigations involving workplace policies and wage and hour complaints, and assisting clients with computer forensic investigations pertaining to trade secret issues.
