Our lawyers are experienced in every aspect of real estate investment law, from fund formation through to property level asset management. Our recent experience includes:

  • representing a timberland investment partnership, composed of tax-exempt investors, in its conversion to a private REIT
  • representing a real estate investment trust (REIT) in the acquisition of a 5.3 million square foot Texas office portfolio for $1.1 billion in the subsequent sale of one of the buildings
  • advising a privately held real estate investment firm in the formation of two real estate investment funds
  • advising a consortium of investors from the Middle East on the acquisition and c£500m GDV redevelopment of one of London’s most prestigious residential schemes
  • advising an Asian private fund on the indirect purchase of a c£500m portfolio of UK commercial assets let on a “triple-net” basis to the UK Government and the establishment of the first “UK” focused Singaporean REIT (S-REIT) to be listed on the SGX
  • representing an international developer on their c£1.5bn programmatic joint venture with a North American public pension fund in the multifamily sector in the UK
  • advising a global investment manager on the corporate sale of one of the largest shopping centers in Germany, navigating the German RETT regime
  • acting for a Korean investment manager and capital partner on the purchase of a large single let real estate asset in Dublin, the first investment into the Irish market by a Korean investor
  • advising an overseas investor on the indirect purchase of a portfolio of logistics assets in the Nordics
  • advising a private equity investor on its joint venture with an operating partner to acquire a portfolio of housing assets and the grant of an investment grade lease across the portfolio
  • advising the UK Government on the sale of a commercial portfolio of income bearing assets (over 5,000 occupiers) for in excess of £1bn to a global private equity investor
  • advising a private equity on the trade sale of a PBSA platform across the UK and continental Europe. We also advised a private equity investor on the establishment of a large PBSA platform in the UK and trade sale to an institutional investor
