- the institutional buyers in the largest private land transaction ever, the acquisition of approximately 4.2 million acres of timberlands across 14 states from International Paper A TIMO in its sale of approximately 1.9 million acres of timberlands involving properties spread over Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Louisiana and Minnesota
- two separate European institutional investors in acquisitions of US timberlands totaling more than $1 billion
- a national cooperative bank acting as administrative agent and lead arranger for credit facilities provided to a joint venture purchasing more than 1.1 million acres of timberlands for $1.39 billion
- a Brazilian forest products company in the sale of timber rights to a US university endowment, including negotiation of the purchase and sale Agreement, a cutting agreement with mandatory deposits with a major forest products company to secure financing, and full exculpated financing
- a major life insurance company in the formation of an international joint venture with Westchester COZAD to acquire agricultural properties in the United States, Canada, Australia Brazil, Argentina and Chile
- a large pension fund in the acquisition for direct ownership of a large portfolio of 118 agribusiness properties in six states, consisting of apple orchards, citrus orchards, nut groves, wine grape vineyards and row crop farms
- a joint venture of investors in one of the largest private forest carbon investments in US history, valued at approximately $1.8 billion
- Multiple companies on subsurface CCUS, including tax and regulatory issues which are central to these carbon capture projects
- and obtaining seminal letter rulings from the IRS on a variety of timber related matters, including issues dealing with carbon offset credits
