Over recent years we have seen an expansion of the autonomous sanctions regimes implemented by countries around the world, as well as an increased use in “countermeasures” (including the imposition of sanctions and import/export-related restrictions) imposed in response to Western Sanctions which only adds to the legal and regulatory complexity of operating globally. As a result and in response to feedback from our clients, our sanctions developments tracker now includes updates relating to the sanctions regime imposed by the People's Republic of China (PRC), supplementing the existing updates relating to the UK, EU and US.
