On Your Radar: Aerospace, Defense & Security Foresight Q1 2021February 18, 2021 The year 2020 was one of the most challenging (in recent memory) for the aerospace, defense, and security sector. Companies across the sector are continuing to experience a number of supply chain challenges as they look to manage risk long term. More than ever, management teams must rethink and redesign existing approaches to go beyond short-term recovery and set a long-term strategic supply chain vision in order to protect a company’s interests.
Continued scrutiny of transactions across Europe by governments is being motivated by a number of geopolitical factors including rising protectionism, concern about cybersecurity threats, and more recently the need to protect critical industries in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The future of international data flow and use of data transfer mechanisms, in particular between the European Union and the United States, has recently been called into question and will need to be monitored more closely by companies going forward. Also as the sector comes to rely more and more on complex and networked electronic information and communication systems, those systems must be secure from cyberthreats.
