Former Federal Prosecutor Michael Robotti joins Eversheds Sutherland in New YorkStrategic hire strengthens firm’s white-collar disputes and global investigations capabilities amid continued litigation growth.May 27, 2026 New York | Eversheds Sutherland continues the strategic expansion of its global litigation platform with the addition of Michael Robotti as a partner in its New York office. A former Assistant US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York (EDNY), where he served for eight years, Mr. Robotti deepens the firm’s global White-Collar Disputes and Investigations practice. Mr. Robotti’s arrival marks Eversheds Sutherland’s second hire of a former US Attorney’s Office prosecutor in New York in the past six months, following the addition of Negar Tekeei from the Southern District of New York (SDNY) in December, who now serves as the firm’s global co-lead of the Corporate Crime and Investigations practice. “Mike’s proven leadership and experience navigating high-stakes matters will resonate immediately with clients,” said Lino Mendiola, Global Co-CEO and US Chief Executive of Eversheds Sutherland. “Together with Negar’s SDNY background and the strength of our broader team, his arrival further enhances our ability to deliver exceptional counsel in complex enforcement environments. Mike’s time in government and private practice, along with his service on the Criminal Justice Act Panels for the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York, brings valuable perspective to our platform, and we look forward to introducing him to clients.” With a practice focusing on white-collar criminal defense, government and internal investigations, complex civil litigation and regulatory compliance, Mr. Robotti regularly represents corporations and individuals in matters involving the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as well as in internal corporate investigations and civil litigation. “We are very excited to welcome Mike, as we continue to expand our global White-Collar Disputes and Investigations practice. With his prosecutorial background and his more recent years in private practice, Mike brings extensive trial experience across many areas of the law, enhancing our ability to advise clients at the vanguard of evolving enforcement areas,” said Olga Greenberg and Michael Bahar, Co-Heads of Global Litigation. “Clients will benefit not only from Mike’s in-court experience but also from the strategic judgment he’s developed through years of advising on high-stakes, high-profile matters. He has earned deep respect across the legal community through his career of distinguished public and private practice, making him an outstanding addition to our team." As a former federal prosecutor, Mr. Robotti brings significant trial and appellate experience, including serving as Deputy Chief of the EDNY’s International Narcotics and Money Laundering Section and as senior trial counsel in its Business and Securities Fraud Section. He has tried numerous federal cases to verdict and has argued many matters before federal district courts and courts of appeals. His experience spans a wide range of enforcement areas, including securities and healthcare fraud, sanctions violations, insider trading, trade secret theft, money laundering and public corruption. “I’m thrilled to join Eversheds Sutherland and contribute to the continued growth of its highly regarded white-collar disputes and investigations practice and larger litigation practice group. The firm’s global platform and deep bench of talent create a compelling platform to support clients navigating complex, high-stakes enforcement matters, and I look forward to working collaboratively with my new colleagues to deliver practical, strategic counsel,” Mr. Robotti said. In addition to his disputes work, Mr. Robotti advises financial institutions and businesses on anti-money laundering (AML) obligations under the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other regulatory frameworks. He has particular experience navigating issues involving DOJ corporate enforcement policy, as well as emerging areas, such as cryptocurrency, cannabis and anti-corruption compliance. So far in 2026, the firm’s unprecedented US litigation expansion—from Houston with Eric Kristiansen and Ryan Pittman to Washington, DC with Alexandra Chopin and Ellen Connell, and continued West Coast growth with Peter Meier in Silicon Valley—reflects a coordinated effort to deepen capabilities in complex, high-stakes matters with preeminent practitioners. In total, the firm has welcomed 21 US litigation attorneys over the past year, including the 2025 additions of Blake Roberts as Co-Lead of Congressional Investigations and, along with the opening of our Silicon Valley office, Bradford Newman as Head of Complex Technology Disputes (US)—moves that underscore Eversheds Sutherland’s commitment to advising clients on their most sophisticated disputes and enforcement matters nationwide and globally.
