Eversheds Sutherland Announces New US Executive Committee Member and Practice Group Leader Updates

• Partner Olga Greenberg, resident of the Atlanta office, will step into the role of US Co-Head of Litigation alongside Partner Michael Bahar, after having served as a US Executive Committee member from 2021 to 2025. 
• Partner Kym Kochis, resident of the New York office, has been elected to the firm’s 10-member US Executive Committee and will step down from her role as US Co-Head of Litigation after having served in that role for five years. 
• Partner Cynthia Krus, resident of the Washington DC office, will step into the role of Head of US Capital Markets and Investments as she continues to serve as Co-Chair of the firm’s Global Board. She previously served as US Executive Partner from 2017 to 2025.

Ms. Krus succeeds Partner Steve Boehm who led the firm’s US Capital Markets and Investments practice for 25 years. Mr. Boehm will continue actively practicing at Eversheds Sutherland and remains dedicated to serving his clients.  Under Mr. Boehm’s leadership, this pioneering practice was transformed into a market leader for Business Development Companies (BDC) and similar alternative investment vehicles. The practice’s signature annual event, the BDC Roundtable, has grown over the last 23 years to become the BDC industry’s premier event, attracting 90% of the industry.

These updates follow other key leadership developments across the firm, including the appointment of Lino Mendiola and Keith Froud as Co-Chief Executives in April 2025. In 2025, the firm also welcomed 10 new partners in the US and elected six new US partners and five new US counsel, effective January 1, 2026.

As Co-Leader of the Securities Enforcement group, she provides strategic, proactive guidance aimed at minimizing business disruption, cost, and regulatory scrutiny while helping clients navigate high-stakes enforcement environments.  She was most recently recognized by the Financial Times in its 2025 North America Innovative Lawyers awards program, earning Highly Commended honors in the “Disputes and Litigation” category for securing a landmark victory for Commonwealth Financial Network, successfully reversing a $93 million SEC enforcement action in the First Circuit Court of Appeals. 
  
Ms. Kochis, Co‑Head of the Insurance Litigation and Class Action groups, counsels financial services providers on a wide range of litigation and corporate governance matters. She provides deft representation for companies facing complex class action disputes, regularly navigating claims involving unfair trade practices, consumer fraud, tort, and complex breach‑of‑contract allegations. A highly experienced appellate advocate, Ms. Kochis has argued before multiple US Courts of Appeals, and in just the past five years, has successfully defeated or resolved more than 50 class actions, earning a strong reputation for her strategic judgment and steady leadership in high‑stakes litigation.
 
Ms. Krus has been with Eversheds Sutherland for over 25 years and has been instrumental in building the US Capital Markets and Investments group into a highly regarded team advising clients on sophisticated equity and debt capital markets transactions and independent counsel to the largest asset managers in the alternative space, with a focus on registered alternative investment vehicles and private credit funds. She is also widely recognized for having developed the firm’s practice that represents business development companies (BDCs), which fund middle market companies through the fundraising efforts of retail and institutional investors as well as Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs). She is a leader in corporate governance and has been the author of Corporate Secretary’s Answer Book for over 20 years. In addition to her practice, in her leadership role as Executive Partner and Global Board member (2017-2025), Ms. Krus was responsible for the day-to-day management of Eversheds Sutherland’s US operations. She continues to serve as the Co-Chair of the Global Board.
