Sameer is a Senior Associate in the Finance Practice Group and a member of the US Restructuring and Insolvency team.
Sameer represents institutional investors and lenders in both domestic and international debt finance and restructuring matters. His practice encompasses a broad spectrum of complex bankruptcy proceedings, out-of-court workouts, asset dispositions, claims reconciliation procedures, preference actions, and commercial transactions.
With a strong focus on insolvency-related issues, Sameer has notable experience across diverse industries, such as retail, aerospace, broadcasting, pharmaceuticals, and oil and gas. His clients have included indenture trustees, debtor-in-possession (DIP) agents, administrative agents, hospitality management companies, software suppliers, online retailers, multinational music conglomerates, commercial bakeries, widget manufacturers, litigation administrators, digital marketing agencies, and individual creditors involved in chapter 11 cases.
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Sameer practiced in the bankruptcy, reorganization, and creditors’ rights group of a prominent U.S. law firm. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Christopher M. Alston at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Washington.
