John Verderame is a Senior Associate in the firm's Capital Markets Practice Group, where he works with public and private closed-end funds, such as business development companies (BDCs).
John advises clients on regulatory filing needs with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and on general compliance with, and exemptions from, the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and the Investment Company Act of 1940. He also counsels clients on a wide range of corporate finance matters and transactions, including fund formation, raising capital through equity and debt securities, and corporate and financial governance.
Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, John participated in the firm's Summer Associate Program. During law school, he was Editor-in-Chief of the American University Law Review and served as a legal honors student for the SEC's Division of Enforcement.
